Why work at Ossum Inc.?
Ossum is an ossum place to work! The management team is well aware that culture flows from a company's leadership. The Ossum culture is our business's most closely watched feature. One of the quality gates is hiring. We hire the best talent we can find because our customers deserve nothing less. We believe in small, family-sized (7± 2) teams, working closely with trust, honesty, enthusiasm, and esprit de corps. When we make bad hiring decisions, we correct them quickly. When we make fantastic hiring decisions, we reward them as fast as the evidence suggests.
Ossum has a mission. We want to radically simplify how large software systems are designed, coded, and run. You should read more about it in the About section.
Ossum is a fully remote company for numerous reasons. We like the 10-second commute for traffic decongestion, stress management, and environmental reasons. We believe it provides a better work/life balance and greater flexibility for our workers, especially parents. Ossum's profit sharing is better when we keep our overhead costs lower, so we don't have office space. The knowledge work we do has higher productivity in non-office environments. We can still meet at points in time when group discussions are necessitated. Still, if you don't like video conferencing, you should look elsewhere.
Ossum is a customer-centric company. Its people and technology succeed only when our customers succeed in their software development projects. This is far from a revolutionary idea, but one we expect all our employees to embrace for the benefit of all. We believe in taking on interesting projects with amazing clients.
Ossum is a partner-focused company. We aren't arrogant enough to think we can change the software development world alone. We have a big mission, but we won't be able to complete it unless we stand on the shoulders of the giants who came before us. Our trusted partners bring their expertise in visual design, platform engineering, operations management, observability, and testing. At the same time, we focus on the heart of software design, reducing complexity and shortening the time to delivery.
Ossum is a proponent of open source. We sponsor, mentor, and contribute directly when it makes business sense. When a product is not part of our secret sauce, we prefer to make it available to our customers without charge. And yet, the core of all our products, RIDDL, is open source. We believe all good projects start with open-source technology, especially git.
Ossum is looking for passionate software developers who want to make the software development process as efficient as possible, no matter how hard we work to achieve that.
